Description

CD-1 Pro Capacitive Discharge Ignition System without data logging capability (includes P/N 104001 CD-1 Pro ignition module, P/N 102002 CD-1 ignition coil, harness, and USB interface). Intended for professional racing applications where the rules do not allow data logging.

Not legal for sale or use in California or on any pollution controlled vehicles.

Why should you buy the CD-1 from Daytona Sensors rather than competitive products from companies such as Crane or MSD? The simple answer is value, features and reliability. For complete comparative details, read the CD-1, Crane HI-6 and MSD Digital 6 Teardown Report.

Optional RTD-1 Retard Control for CD-1 Automotive Version

CD PRO IGNITION

The CD-1 Pro Ignition is accepted for use in Sportsmen Classes in NHRA for competition (refer to acceptance letter from NHRA). The CD-1 Pro version has all the same features as the standard CD-1, except that data logging is disabled as required by NHRA. A distinctive clear anodized housing allows easy identification of the CD-1 Pro version. The PC Link CD Pro software used with this version has all the same features as the standard PC Link CD software, except that data logging setup selections have been deleted. The standard PC Link CD software cannot communicate with the CD-1 Pro version.

MARINE VERSION FEATURES

· Same basic features and functions of the automotive version with special enhancements for marine applications.

· Compatible with 8 cylinder marine engines with distributor type ignition.

· Digitally set RPM limit with 100 RPM steps from 3,000 to 9,900 RPM.

· Seven switch selectable advance curves and a fixed timing mode cover most Mercury marine high performance applications.

· PC programmable idle stabilization feature.

· PC programmable advance features ranging from a simple RPM based advance curve to a 3D timing map with boost proportional retard.

· Dedicated input terminals for manifold pressure and an externally activated 0-18 degree retard feature.

· Three general purpose input/output terminals. Two inputs are reserved for data logging. An additional input/output terminal can be used for data logging or as an RPM window switch.

· Module and coil are both certified to meet the ignition protection requirements of the NMMA, the USCG, ISO 8846 and SAE J1171 SAE standards for marine applications.

PC Link CD Software

Please note that use of the PC Link software is optional and not required for basic applications of the CD-1 system, including boost proportional timing retard mode. Two versions are available: PC Link CD for automotive applications and PC Link CD Marine for marine applications. The automotive version is shown below. The marine version is similar. Refer to the appropriate CD-1 instructions for details. PC Link software runs under Microsoft Windows XP/Vista/7/8. We no longer support older Windows versions. PC Link allows the user to program all the parameters and tables within the CD-1 system. Minimum PC requirement is a 300 MHz Pentium with super VGA display (SVGA with 1024 x 768 pixel resolution). The CD-1 connects to the PC by means of the USB interface supplied with the system. The PC must have a free USB port.

· You can establish setup parameters including function of the general purpose input/output (GPIO) terminals and program advance curves.

· You can download and upload to the module, open and save files to disk, and print setup values including graphs for advance curves. Includes comprehensive on-line help system. Program control strategy based on throttle position, RPM and vehicle speed windows, time delay, and first gear lockout.

PC Link software is free! You can always download the latest version of the software and instruction sheet from our website. The software will run in demo mode without a CD-1 system attached. For your convenience, we include a copy on CDROM when you purchase the CD-1 system.

CD Log Software

The CD-1 includes comprehensive data logging capability. You can download and display data on a chart recorder type screen. Data is available for all inputs and output functions. The CD Log software has the same PC requirements as described above for the PC Link software. For more detailed information, we suggest that you download the CD Log software and instructions. The software download includes a sample file with actual data.

· Chart display for downloaded data allows you to monitor vehicle operation on the track. You have a range of capabilities for analyzing the displayed data. This feature is especially useful for checking the operation of accessories, such as a nitrous system activated by the CD-1 unit.

· The CD-1 has two data logging modes: normal at 10 samples/second for 5 hours and high speed at 100 sample/second for 30 minutes.

· You can download data from the module, open and save files to disk, and print chart graphics. Includes comprehensive on-line help system.
